Laptop monitor to desktop?

Postby bsxiong » Sun Sep 03, 2006 2:43 am

is there a way to use a laptop monitor for your desktop computer? Are there like adapters?

If not, is there a way to modify it yourself to make it work?

or is there a way to test if you monitor still works? cause my computer broke down. when i power it on, i can hear the power going around, but no screen.

I also think that the MOBO is dead too. Could it be that the screen isn't on becuse the mobo is dead?

the laptop is a grx650 Sony Vaio. The Graphic card is on the MOBO. a glass full of water was tipped on the laptop and killed it. I didn't think it killed the Monitor too, but when i try to boot up my laptop, i don't even see the screen powering on.

Take the battery out of it and remove the keyboard--that could take some work. If you google "hard drive removal and model," it might include instructions on minor disassembly. Then set it inside of a hot car for a week (without the battery--heat kills laptop batteries)

I replaced the keyboard for a Presario that they spilled a coke in and it worked great. You might luck out.
