DUmb pc, keeps shutting down

Postby flipt » Tue Mar 13, 2007 1:34 pm

Hi all.

here my problem:

My pc for some reason shuts itself down. At first i thought this was relative to over heating as i was hitting 60c (via motherboard monitor) and that is roughly when it would happen. So i applied some new grease to the cpu and it now sits below 50.

Odd thing is the only way i can restart my pc is to unplug the power cable and plug it back in, then i can turn it back on. Which leads me to believe this is a psu issue.

Any help would be great... even just lead me in the right direction.

have:

asus A7N8X-X mobo
amd sempron 2400
1gig ddr 400
ati 7000 video card (ouch that hurt to write)
30 gig maxtor hd
200 gig maxtor hd
lg dvd burner

nothing is blinking when it is off... it is completely off... and recently, i dont even have to be running very intensive programs (use to happen alot with winrar and quickpar but now will happen with simply using firefox)

Thanks in advance
