forgot to give system information: Pentium 4 3Ghz HT, 512MB Corsair Value Select pc 3200 DDR, Abit IS7 motherboard, one 30Gig hard drive (I was trying to copy about 10 gigs of music to) and one 60 gig with the music and movies on.. DVD ROM, CD RW. Leadtek Winfast A280 LE TDH My VIVO Geforce 4 Ti 4200 128MB. I'm using the onboard sound provided with the IS7.. (it kind of sucks, haven't had time to buy decent sound card yet..)

I'd run Scandisk (chkdsk if Winxp) and Defrag on both and try again.

I know exactly what's wrong. I have an IS7 as well. In your BIOS, you must go to advanced chipset features, and configure the Game Accelerator settings. Figure them out. I have 2x 256 3200's in dual channel mode on Street Racer settings.
Opportunities multiply as they are seized.
