Has anyone ever heard of calibrating a monitor to ensure that colors are true?? If so have you ever done this??

If so, is this done with a program??

I've heard photographers may do this, but I've noticed that all of our monitors are slightly different colors and wanted to see if I could correct this...

Thanks again...

Hi Junior

If you rt click the desktop and go to properties and then select advanced, you will see a color management tab. Each screen manufacture has an icm or icc file that goes in there. It is suppose to give your screen the same quality as the printed form. I know that photoshop uses that file and it can make a difference on what you see.

I just bought a flat screen and they seem to be configured somewhat differently, They have set it up so the user can determine the color intensity. I know when color TV's first came out, my aunt would fiddle with the screen to get the grass green for a football game, which completely screwed up the set for regular viewing. What you are trying to do seems simple, but the user usually wins out on this one.
