RAM speed question with respect to motherboard.

Postby rohaninabout » Sat Oct 11, 2008 5:47 am

Hey guys, just wanting to clear something up.

I'm going to buy this:

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.a ... 6813131327

and under specs it says: "Memory Standard DDR3 1333 / DDR2 1066)

I'm getting DDR2-800 memory. Not sure if the motherboard ONLY takes 1066 RAM, or UP TO 1066 RAM.

Can someone clear this up for me? Thanks heaps

thats a tough one, it depends on the bios. It "should" run it but i cant promise it.

Safest bet would be to download the motherboard manual from asus and read over it.

Great, thanks liljim!

And no worries, I found another site and it said that it run all DDR2 RAM up to 1066 so I'm happy :D

Thanks again.
