i just got a liteon ltr-482465 48x24x48, and it't not being recognized by any cd burning programs; i've downloaded and tried at least 5 so far and none of them can recognize it as a cd burner and thus i can't burn any cds. Help anyone?

What software was packaged with the drive? Also,be sure to check the jumper on the back of the drive. If anything else is hooked to the same ide cable, such as another cd-rom drive or harddrive, one has to be set to master and the other slave. If it is the only device on the cable then it should be set to master.

i've already fixed the slave/master drive issue, and there wasn't any software packaged with it.

If you have a look on the nero website they should have a list of supported drives - is it listed there?

ok, so i've downloaded the aspi drivers - which i do not have installed on my system yet - but when i try to install them, i get an error message and the installation fails. could this be because i am not an administrator but a power user?
