i have a seagatebarracuda ata 3(30 gig hd) i was runnig it as a master on my pc. i had a power outage in the house . when i tried to load it up i wouldnt. i downloaded software from the seagate website and the diagnostic was a hd on maximum security(eventhough i never put my hd on any security) . when i run programs that detects hd's it asks me for a password.(?) how do i get the hd to work again, i cant even reb0ot it, when i tried it wouldnt detect the hd(eventhough i would not like to because i have info in the hd that i need) please help i have no more options

Last time we had a power outage my Desktop won't boot either. I had to remove the CMOS battery, wait a hour or so, reinstall, and it booted. It obviously reeks havoc on the bios to lose power that way and resetting it does the trick. Worth a try.

its not the bios its the hd itself, ive tried it on diffrent pc's .seagate told me i had to pay for them to hook up to it and fix it, but i dont wanna pay, i wanna know how to do it myself

So you're saying that if you go into the Bios it is detecting the Hard Drive?

Does your Bios detect the Drive? (probably C drive)

yes it does but it dosnt boot. when i installed the seagate hardware it asked me for the master password(ITS LOCKED AT MAX SECURITY)
