Video Card or Mobo?
I built a system recently for one of my customers. When I assemled it and turned it on, no problem. The video came up, I was able to install the OS and other programs. Everything worked fine. After delivering it to the customer he called me to let me know he couldn't get video working. His CPU fan also wouldn't work. After taking it home, disassemling and reassembling the system the fan still didn't work. After checking if the CPU fan port on the mobo was getting power with my meter, I got a little spark and now the fan is working. The video unfortunately is not. The fan spins on the video card, but no output.
So this leads me to the question, is it the mobo (since there was some trouble with the cpu fan.) or is it the video card? I rather not rma either and find out it was the other piece.
