Nero ultra edition need urgent help!!

Postby davebaker » Tue Jul 06, 2004 3:38 pm

I cant understand why this has started happening my cd rw drive is an AOpen CDrw 3248 and is about 3 years old. For some reason when writing multi session discs mostly putting mp3s on the cd's it failed first time. I tried again, it then failed twice at 97% i tired a different cd, same thing. Upgraded firmware for cd rw and same thing happened. Then reinstalled nero, failed immediatly before writing.

The error message on nero says : session fixation error, could not perform fixation.

Ive just spend £100 on an mp3 cd player from iriver and wanna be able to use it by next week as im going on holiday!

Any help much appreciated,
thanks in advance.

Have you changed the brand of CD's you use for burning at all?? possibly a media incompatibility??

have you upgraded Nero recently.. using it's own ASPI layer as it does, older drives can be written out of the updates..

does it do the same with DAO discs as well as multi session ones?

Try buring a cd at a real slow speed like 8x--I had a 1/2 pack of imation cds that became party coasters--they were rated at 40x and they choked on every burn--they burned ok at 8x.

If its been working aok for 3 years, you might have other issues with the burner itself --also try a blast of compressed air into the burner with the tray open.
