Windows Messanger Service, What is it?

Postby BracoL7 » Mon Aug 18, 2003 12:03 am

A while ago it started occuring on my computer and my dad's. For some reason it stopped on mine but continued to get worse on my dad's. Finally in doing some research, i noticed many sites selling a program to block it but I came upon one that told me how to edit windows service so it wouldn't start. I can't remember how I did it, but that isn't my question. I would really like to know what it is, how you get, and why you get it.
Thanks for your time. :D

windows messenger is a chat service like AIM, or yahoo. it comes installed by defualt with most windows computers. im not sure if u can get rid of it easily or not, but when it starts up go to preferences, and choose to not let it run on restart.

lol, i said I have already gotten rid of it through editing of a windows service program, but I would just like to know things about it such as how I could have got it, does microsoft really build it in on purpose etc.
