What's the story on LimeWire?

Postby Geekgirl » Fri Oct 08, 2004 9:33 pm

Anyone use ?
It said no adaware, no spyware seems to be good program. Just not sure if it needs to use P2P like Kazaa does. Yeah you probably need some type of file sharing tool but wasn't sure how it measured up to Kazaa. It downloads mp3's in seconds flat !!!

Lime wire is great. I run ad aware and spybot and both have no complaints. I just ran pest patrol, and it went nuts over it--it considers the program a threat, but it works good. Its p2p, and the thing I like best, is that you can try to play the file after you've downloaded the first 10K and see if you are blocked by license agreements or its not what what you though it was--the preview feature is nice--you don't waste time downloading the whole thing only to find out it isn't what you wanted.

Its got kazaa beat, they've got their hand out asking for money, if you download from a paid kazaa subscriber, you can't open the file unless you also are a licensed subscriber. A real waste of bandwidth!

Limewire is good on Music and believe it or not Porn. This is not a program to leave on the desktop if you have kids around. They will get into the wrong place every time --so watch out!

If your looking for software then try emule--its slow unless you participate, but they have everything.

Hope this helps

Hiyas

I dl'd the basic Limewire.... and I like it. :)

I was just wondering if anyone could tell me whether it's worth upgrading to Limewire Pro... is it worth paying money for the extra features ?
