Try downloading and running both of these Trojan and Spyware detectors / removers:

I think these will fix you up.
Remember to update both and read their Help files.

Try this: Start Button / Run / Type in msconfig / Click Enter / Select the Startup Tab / See if "tfsctrl" is in there. If so, "uncheck" it and reboot your computer. See if that solves your computer. Post back.

Tfscwctrl.exe is for Hewlett-Packard’s DLA software (Drive Letter Assignment).
This is a background task for HP’s DLA that gets installed when you installed the software that comes with their CD/DVD Writers. HP’s DLA is packet writing software which enables you to store data onto CDs directly from within Windows applications, without using the actual CD Writing software (much like Roxio’s DirectCD. Many users have reported shutdown problems caused by TFSWCTRL "not responding". In all cases, since they were never using the DLA software and were instead using the CD Writing software to create their CDs, they simply uninstalled HP’s DLA and that solved all their problems with Tfscwctrl.exe
