Automatic date change in MS/Word Letters.

Postby Juliana » Thu Oct 27, 2005 8:55 am

When I use the MS/Word Letter Template I save the document when finished, but in the future when I need to check something in the document the Date has automaically changed to the date of the day I am reopening the document. My Date & Time box for Automatic date change is not ticked. I have tried everything and asked everyone but to no avail. Anyone with any ideas as to the problem and how to fix it.

Thankyou.Juliana.

The reason this happens is because in a word Letter Template the date is a Field.
Word uses visual basic to fill this field with the current date.

What you can do is delete the date field, leaving your curser where the field was
and then go to “Insert” select “Date and time”, because it’s text and not a field it won’t change.
