Hello.
Does anyone have a flash install that will def work on xp for ie. I dunno why but mine has stopped working, when i go to the main site it tries to use active x, i click allow, i even click install when it comes up, but it just isnt working at all and i dont know how im going to fix it.

Any ideas?

Try rt clicking on tools in Internet Explorer-->Internet Options-->Security. Click on Custom and scroll through the options for Active X, and see if they are set the way you want them. Very high security settings just might have the door nailed shut.

Hey icecube.
Thats the thing, the active x works, it comes up saying would you liek to install flash, i click yes. and nothing happens :S

Problem thou, when i was installing it it gave me this error

Which i am asumeing is my problem. Does anyone know how to sort this?

venney have you tried registering the file yourself?

Start > run and copy the below into the text field and press enter

regsvr32.exe c:\windows\system32\Macromed\flash\Flash8b.ocx

Is a permission problem are you logged in as admin or with admin rights?

It could be a Windows installer issue. The downloadable installer is an MSI file, not a typical EXE, so it requires the MS installer. I had to update a computer here with some Windows patches in order to install Flash 8 because they used MSI for that as well.

Can you get Flash player 7 to install?

First uninstall Flash player 8:

Then try installing 7:

Hey dave. I uninstalled it. I installed flash 7 with no prob. But the site i need it for requires 8. So i uninstalled it again. Then tried the stand alone 1 that you mentioned earlyer. I still get the same message. Thanks for your effort tho dude, i thought it was gonna work for a second lol.

It might have to do with MS Java.

In your System32 folder. search for the file "msjava.dll" and if it doesn't exist, get it from here

put it in the System32 folder, and try one more time
