outlook express SPAM question

how does outlook express decide to label an email SPAM. every time i get sent an email from a mate of mine who is in my address book, OE labels it SPAM. and the way i have OE configured it puts all mails labelled SPAM into the deleted folder. so i then have to trawl through my deleted folder to find my mates email

You need to create a new rule in OE:
Select Tools > Message Rules > Mail > in section 1 put a check next to Where the from line contains people.

In section 2 put a check next to Move to a specified folder.

In section 3 click on both of the links and select the appropriate information, folder and email from address book.

OK you way back out, that should do it.
