the 32 bit limit is 4 gigs and the 64 bit is 16 gigs. This applies to all versions of windows.

The 32bit limit is 4, but Windows will only actually see 3.3 Gigs.
64 Bit really has no limit outside of board capacity.

I have seen a couple of servers running linux on two intel cpu's, on a board claiming to hold 32 gigs.

There used to be some Sun servers that would do 64 and even 128 gigs of ram. They kind of got phased out since 2001 though. But I bet there are still some hanging around.
