A friend is thinking about going online with his PS2.. Our question is.. is there any kind of subscription to pay purely to allow the PS2 to operate online?

He has the network adapter. He is buying SOCOM2 with a headset and wonders if there is a one off charge of any kind to pay? or any kind of subscrition to either Sony for gateway access to the net.. or for subscription to the game itself.

Any hints and advice greatly appreciated.

Tells you all about online PS2 gaming, i think you just pay a monthly fee with Blueyonder to play online, not sure about another fee you have to pay with Sony i doubt that but if thats link any help take a look

I heard certain games they DO charge monthly for (Like Final Fantasy 12) but I have Socom 1 and they don't charge for that.
