Hi venney

Not sure what O.S. you have, think its XP. Anywho, Right click My Computer, click properties, click Hardware tab, in the center click Device Manager.

If your running 98, Right click My Computer, click properties, Device Manager.

Ok,in the Registry find this KEY:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\CDRom

Value Name: Autorun

Data Type: REG_DWORD

Data: (0=disable, 1=enable)

Hi venney,

Try this;
Double click “My Computer” next, right click on the CD Rom Drive and select “Properties”
In the popup window select the “AutoPlay” tab, now use the dropdown list box to select the CD type
then select what you want windows to do or what program to use with that type of CD.
Use the dropdown list box to set all CD types, to finish click the “Apply” button

BACKUP YOUR REGISTRY BEFORE EDITING

In the Registry find this KEY:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Policies\Explorer
Look at the value of the NoDriveTypeAutoRun entry. A value of 0xb5 turns off the AutoRun feature for CD-ROMs.
To turn on the AutoRun feature, right-click NoDriveTypeAutoRun,
click Modify, type 91 in the Value data box, select Hexadecimal, and then click OK.
