Corrupted files

Postby Ibsen3 » Sat Sep 13, 2003 11:51 am

Hi people,

I was recently the subject of a remote attack on my PC, which I've solved now, but it's left me with a few files that have become corrupted in a kind of weird way. The main problem is that some of my best audio tracks have been made into screensavers (?!) with a .scr file type at the end. Can anyone tell me how I change them back?

Have you tried renaming the file so it has the correct file extent?

To see hidden files, open explorer. Go to Tools, Folder Options, and click on the View tab. Uncheck the Hide files boxes and uncheck the hide known file extensions.
You should now be able to rename the files, by right clicking on the file and selecting rename just the extensions to what you need, like .mp3.
Don’t forget to reset the check boxes to how they were.
