I am trying to copy one DVD to another with no success. I don't know anything about this subject. I don't even know where to start. Please help me get this going. I don't what mode to use either.

Do I need to use ISO and read the data and then write the data to the new disk?

I used ISO mode and created an ISO File and MDS file. I changed the ISO mode to write and selected the ISO file and It worked.

I just bought this NEC OEM drive from new egg.
I have DVD decriptor and DVD Shrink.

Windows XP Pro Service pack 2
SATA 40gig Hard Drive
2.667Mhz Processor
512 Dual Channel Memory
INTEL Board
NVIDIA GeForce 600 Graphics Card / Extreem PCI
NEC DVD_RW ND-3520A
IDE DVD-ROM 16X
Realteck High Definition Audio
Lynksys Wireless Network

Hello.

Before I explain the best way i have found how to do it, are you copying like whole movies? As in dvd 9?

Also is your DVD writer a dual layer one (DVD 9).
Mine isn’t. So you have to (as I’m sure your aware) to shrink the file. The best way i have found to do it is just to remove the menu's and subtitles but this isn’t always necessary.

Download these programs.

'AnyDVD' - this removes the copy protection, naughty naughty, but to make backups of your own DVD’s which is allowed, I’m not going into the legal details, you need this program. You just run it and it runs in the task bar and in the options tick ‘remove copy protection’.

'CloneDVD2' - this is the program I use, its by far the best one I’ve found. It lets you choose exactly what you want to remove/keep and it shows you in a user friendly way what quality the movie will come out, by a handy little bar at the bottom. So can see how much extras to keep to keep it good quality. It really is the best and most user-friendly program you’ll find. And it’ll save you faffying about with images and that. But lol saying that, you can make the output a ISO or DVD file or straight to DVD.

I do recommend using it.

I am quite used to all this so trust me :D

If you need more help please feel free to ask.
