My video files wont play ??

Hey guys...when trying to watch my movie files ( .avi etc) it comes up "error reading file" when using nero Showtime. WMP wont play them either.
I seem to have lost the volume on my speakers as well.
Any ideas ?

Only thing I added recently that might afect this is WMP 11 but it has worked since I installed that. Other than that ive istalled Dreamweaver and Photoshop.

Ok ive narrowed it down to WMP 11. I uninstalled it and everthing works fine. I'm almst sure I did a custom install of WMP11 to choose which files it plays etc. Might just try again.
