This may sound "trite" but have you tried manually "dragging" the file to the Recycle Bin? brad

Try shutting down WinDVD. It leaves a little icon in you system tray next to your clock. Make sure you right click on that icon and close the app. Then try deleting them.

Insert the Windows XP CD-ROM into the CD-ROM drive, and then restart the computer.
When the "Welcome to Setup" screen appears, press R to start the Recovery Console.
You must type the number for your windows installation most likely 1 (one) then press enter.
If you just press enter then your system will reboot.
When you are prompted to do so, type the Administrator password. If the administrator password is blank, just press ENTER.

Now at the command prompt
Type “cd name-of-directory” (without the quotes) that has the files in it you want to delete.
Once you navigate to the directory that contains the files you want to delete.

Type “dir” (without the quotes) to see the list of files in the directory and the name of the files you want to delete.
Chances are that the files will be named something like ghost ~1.avi and ghost ~2.avi
Type “del ghost ~1.avi” (without the quotes) this will delete the file.
Once you delete the files, type “exit” to reboot your system, don’t forget to take out your CD.
