Aol/Real player

Yes, I did uninstall real player using the Add/remove programs in control panel, and I followed the instructions to a 'T'. Now, as suggested, I've re-installed aol on itself and the result is not good. While I no longer receive the popup telling me to install real player, real player is back in my system; furthermore, I now have 2 aols in my system. I would like to do away with real player forever! Please help.

I've not used AOL so I'm guessing here, but if AOL installs with realplayer then there may be a setting somewhere in AOL to tell it not to check for realplayer. This should get rid of the popup.

Why are you so against havin it installed?

If you installed AOL in the same place as before, then you've probably just got 2 shortcuts rather than 2 actual installs - you can probably just delete one of them

Andyedoba... Do a search on your computer for "r1pclean.exe" or ".g2cln.exe" (without the quotes) Double click on them if found. This will remove all traces of "Real Network" components. Their actual location should be in: C/Program Files/Real/Setup. If you've manually deleted the files, you can get them by downloading Real again.
As for the AOL...... Control Panel / Add/Remove / AOL Click on AOL and it will search your computer for AOL versions and ask which one(s) you want to remove. brad
