Hl2 Sound

Hey people, ive had hl2 for ages, since it came out, and it was fine then i think, and i started playing it today, and ever so often when someone was speaking it kinda like skipped or like played back, only a word or 2 in the sentence, so theyd speak like this and then then do that type of thing.
Does anyone know how to fix this sort of thing? I dont remebr it doing it before. There isnt loads of settings in the sound menu i changed it from high to medium and it diddnt change n e thing.

hey ven, did you change any settings like your cl_cmdrate etc since you heard this skipping ? If so delete ur cfg config file in the HL2 DIR or CD Source DIR.

Then see if its the same if not tell me
