Hello every one.

I play css a lot, and I have 1 main problem. I lag al the time. I always have a low ping because i have a 2mb connection but the game lags lots.
Its more of a like everything freezes then loads again, the weapons I have like show up on the rite as if u just picked them up (like when I lag they are taken away then given back when I unlag).

I have everything on the recommended settings (graphics). Do you think it could be a problem with my graphics? My card is only direct x 8 compatible but the software is the latest but obv its only running at the top end of 8.

Do you think my new graphics card (x800 xt pe) will sort out the lag or is it something other than graphics? I’m hoping it is the graphics because that’s 1 of the main reasons i upgraded the card (The cards not in the pc yet you see).

My friend Simon thinks that its my internet and that some spyware or something keeps sending information down my phone line that’s why it lags.

Its a real problem, i blame it for dieing most of the time lol. And anyone who knows me knows i love my counter strike, I’m sure most of you on here know I love the game, so its of top priority to me.

I even tried lowering the graphics on the game but it still did it, that’s why i think it could be to do with the direct x.

Any help is welcome.

The game needs direct X 9.0 i think so it could be that. I think you would have enough ram to run it. So i'd say just a lot of strain on your graphics card. You new graphics card should be immense. What is your processor? i don't think it would be the spyware thingy tho. (He's RLY paranoid about spyware and vriuses )

Lol, yea si is i agree, i think he should send a brick direct thru the window of bargate computers....

I have a 2.2 amd xp process i think. Athalon or summint. Im really hoping its the direct X because i cant think of anything else, i mean the graphics card i have (geforce 5200) isnt that old, but i posted on here before and possibly gecko explained to me that the card is a low end one, thats y its pants!

But yea i cant wait to wack in my new beast, gonna own!!!

See it lags out then i here my weapons then it comes back. That was longer than what it usually lasts but it happens often.

Hello again, i read the back of the box and it says that it needs direct x 7 + so thats got me a bit worried about the problem. Heres another video of what it does, look carefully when i go into the vent, it like goes back out side then back in the vent. This sorta thing always happens 2 me, i have a ping less than 50 on this server as well.

Your old card is pants. You need to use the new one.

Install it and update directx to 9 or is it 10. What ever the latest version is.

Install the graphics drivers from ATI.

Try again after that.

I play cs alot I am thinking your problem is your video card your internet connection looks pretty good I would also upgrad your proccessor and ram as well. I have a p4 2.8 256mb ram, x700 235mb at video card and it lags for me to. I have read a lot of forums aobut this problem it is a known problem with pretty much evyerone who plays source. Mostly ati video cards but you will find problems with nvdia as well. If I were you I would upgrade your ram, and your video card and that should help a bit but right now there was an update on steam and that caused most of the problems everyone is having. You can go to the steam website www.steampowered.com and visit the forums to find futher answers. Hope this helps.

I bought a x800 xt pe graphics card and i upgraded to a gig of ram. It runs perfectly now

I find that I lag on bf2 :S I think if I close msn it helps loads though.

Hey now problem man anytime just trying help out. Yeah I am going to upgrade my ram today and see if it gets any better I tried a bunch of stuff changing settings, different video drivers nothing helped either it stayed the same or got poorer. I am glad yours runs good now. Also try stopping a lot of your services that you dont need like msn, I also changed the way xp looks by using the best performance option instead of haiving all the pretty colored start menu and all. Well maybe I will see you on sometime.
