Welcome to the forums labig but we are going to need a little more info. Is it just one game or any?
How long will it play before it locks?
Have you updated video drivers, windows, directx etc?

Give us as much as you can, "games keep freezing machine", is tough to work with.

If this is a brand new system. Installing XP sucessfully would indicate that everything was accepted as good by the system.

At that point, the video card drivers would be added. This puts you at a junction of bad video drivers or bad video memory. Software or hardware.

Go to the web site and download the latest drivers and see if that helps. Usually the drivers on the CD are at least 6 months old. Check with the motherboard manufacturer if there is conflict with that video card. Bios updates will usually list what the latest one fixes.

you can go to They have a burn in test program, that will test your system for 1 hour which should be good enough to determine if the card is bad.

And then there is the question, are you overclocking? :|

The passmark program that I suggested tests for 3d I am not familar with the program that you ran. Give it a try,

One other thing you can try is this:

Go to Start, -->run and type in "dxdiag" no quotes--> go to display and click on test 3D

see what that returns.
