Postby venney » Fri Aug 19, 2005 7:36 pm

Hey, i have a real problem. I been playing san andreas for last couple of days, and i saw on a site this car modder thing, it was like a trainer. Well now everytime i try start san andreas i get an error and it wont even start up.

This is the error box that comes up

Ive treyed removing it, and then re installing it, same error message. I must be able to get it to work because its worked before. How can i remove every file to do with it, including reg's n that. Surly if i remove every file to do with it it must fix it. It doesnt even start to load up.

Hi venney,

As you know I am not a gammer but:
I would look into this car modder thing you installed as the culprit.
Where did the files get installed to?
Find them and delete them, then uninstall GTA and reinstall it.

Hey gecko, it was like a trainer, i diddnt need to install it, i just double clicked it and you could change the color of your cars or add cars to your garage type of thing, I have deleted it as well. I also had another thing which did pretty much the same thing, just made the people have more money. Press like f5 in game and the other people had more money. That diddnt need to be installed either. I have removed it also.

Any other ideas? Thanks for trying to help gecko mate :)

You could try running regedit to find the installed registry keys and values.
First uninstall GTA SA then:
Start > Run type regedit and click OK
First make a backup of the registry: File > Export, name it and save it just in case.
Next, Edit > Find now type gta_sa.exe click find next, delete any key or value it finds.
Press F3 to find next, keep doing it until done searching box pops up, exit and reboot.
Try reinstalling with your fingers crossed. :)

Thank you gecko!! I did what you said, and i also removed the user date files, the save file and the other file, i then re installed it then it worked, so i added 1 of the 2 files i removed and its fixed it perfectly! So its working now and i still have my saved game.

Thanks mate, your always a good help.
