Hi peahead

After you logfile is read and the moderator gives you a :yes: and its clean,
I strongly suggest you visit the and download all of the Critical Updates and Service Packs.
SP1 should be available for you among other updates.
I would not recommend downloading SP2 though.... :)

Hey peahead ...
Please make a folder for Hijackthis, It's not adviseable to leave it on your desktop, backups will be spread all over your screen .. Image
Right click an empty spot in the MyDocuments Folder----left click NEW---Folder
Name it HJT---copy and paste Hijackthis to that new folder and delete the one on the desktop originally downloaded.
Don't delete backups until everything is running ok...

peahead...you SAVED HJT to your Desktop...
You need to CREATE a folder for it and Drag the HJT.EXE file INTO that folder.
HJT creates BACKUPS...they will be saved all over on your DESKTOP if you do not create a folder for it.

All you need to do is Right click an empty spot in the MyDocuments Folder----left click NEW---Folder
Name it HJT---copy and paste Hijackthis to that new folder and delete the one on the desktop originally downloaded.

Did we not just clean your PC 4-5 days ago.. Image
Let's try this again ..
Your Logfile has a few entries let's get rid of them...

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Start Page = http://www.download.com/ <<---IF THIS IS NOT YOUR STARTPAGE--HAVE HJT FIX IT

O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)
O9 - Extra 'Tools' menuitem: Sun Java Console - {08B0E5C0-4FCB-11CF-AAA5-00401C608501} - (no file)
O9 - Extra button: (no name) - {CD67F990-D8E9-11d2-98FE-00C0F0318AFE} - (no file)
O16 - DPF: {88D758A3-D33B-45FD-91E3-67749B4057FA} (Sinstaller Class) - http://dm.screensavers.com/dm/installer ... taller.cab

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore,before opening your browser goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.

Please follow these directions closely!!

First Set Windows to show Hidden files and folders
* Click Start.
* Open My Computer.
* Select the Tools menu and click Folder Options.
* Select the View Tab.
* Under the Hidden files and folders heading select Show hidden files and folders.
* Uncheck the Hide protected operating system files (recommended) option.
* Click Yes to confirm.
* Click OK.

Again I'm going to tell you It's not adviseable to leave HJT on your desktop, backups will be spread all over your screen :)
Right click an empty spot in the MyDocuments Folder----left click NEW---Folder
Name it HJT---copy and paste hijackthis to that new folder and delete the one on the desktop originally downloaded.

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

DAP.EXE

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,ShellNext = http://svcs.microsoft.com/svcs/mms/pane ... ilter%3dxp

O2 - BHO: DAPHelper Class - {0000CC75-ACF3-4cac-A0A9-DD3868E06852} - C:\Program Files\DAP\DAPBHO.dll

O3 - Toolbar: DAP Bar - {62999427-33FC-4baf-9C9C-BCE6BD127F08} - C:\Program Files\DAP\DAPIEBar.dll

O8 - Extra context menu item: &Download with &DAP - C:\PROGRA~1\DAP\dapextie.htm

O8 - Extra context menu item: Download &all with DAP - C:\PROGRA~1\DAP\dapextie2.htm

O9 - Extra button: Run DAP - {669695BC-A811-4A9D-8CDF-BA8C795F261C} - C:\PROGRA~1\DAP\DAP.EXE

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the
following if they are there:

DapBar

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\Program Files\DAP\DAPBHO.dll

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and Reboot.

Turn on System restore,before opening your browser goto TOOLS>INTERNET OPTIONS and make sure your Homepage is correct,if not ,type the URL you would like in the HomePage box.

Now re-run HJT and post a new logfile back here.
