i just got this new pc through my insurance company and it keeps restarting on me.
especially if im playing games (even C&C Generals) :(

here are the specs
3500+ amd athlon 64bit

1536mb ram 3 x 512mb
200 gb hdd
2 dvd drives
xfi elite pro sound card
firewire card
wifi card.
400W psu

i think it could be overheating but i dont know enough about pcs to be sure. it only has a fan on the chip with a tunnel to the outside of the case and a 120mm fan on the back

please help!!

my dvd rw drive also only works on some disks like dvds, itl work n one disc but not another even in a series. i dont kow if this is related

Let’s see if we can isolate the error that causes the restart:

Go to Start > Control panel > Administrative tools > Event viewer > look in the system section.
You are looking for any red or yellow icons, double click on the icon.
If you don’t see any errors in system try Application and then security.

Once you find the eroor:
Click inside the 'Description' section then highlight the text and copy and paste it into notepad.
At the bottom of the event window check 'words' and then copy and paste that text also
Then past it all of it into this thread.

If you don't show any errors in the event viewer then:
Go to Start > Control Panel > System > Advanced tab > Startup and Recovery section
Settings button > System Failure section > check the box 'Write an event to the system log'

Also try removing one of the side covers of your case if it’s heat that should help the temp.

Was this by chance a refurbished system?

Error code 100000ea
This is usually Ram related and could indicate a problem with your ram.
Download and use it to test you ram.

The system failed to flush data to the transaction log. Corruption may occur.
Are you running a sql server or do you have a large sql database?

An error was detected on device \Device\Harddisk1\D during a paging operation.
This one is not good at all it means that you hard drive may have a bad sectors.
Go to my computer and right click on your D partition select properties now the tools tab.
In the error checking section click check now, put a check in both boxes click start and click yes and reboot the system.
I will take a long time to finish like 4-5 hours.
