port forwarding

Hey, sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I am trying to forward a port for bit torrent. I am using uTorrent, and it says that the correct port is not open.

I have chosen port '39524', and i have gotten into my linkysys router settings, but it doesn’t seem to be fixing the problem.



Am i doing something wrong? Do i have to link my ip address somehow or something?

you have to set the port that utorrent uses. somewhere in the utorrent settings it should tell you what port you need open. You also have to make sure its set for the right ip address. Click start>run> type CMD >click ok. At the command prompt, type ipconfig and press enter. That should tell you what your ip is.
