Painting a computer case

I've got a large gutted out pc case that's got that old beige look to it and was thinking about re-painting it black. Never did this before so I'm wondering if there could be a problem doing this. Also I was even kinda toying with the idea of coating the inside white for more light reflection, would this be a bad idea? Maybe the questions are kinda dumb but knowledge is power right?

As long as you take out all the components first :P

I'd suggest using spray paint. I can't think of any problems this would cause. As long as you don't get any 'blobs' of paint where the case slots together or where a screw needs to go then it should be fine.

Haha very funny dude! Of course I'll there won't be anything inside. As I said it's been stripped so I'm good there. I'm thinking a can of satin black rustoleum should do the trick.

I'd love to see some before and after picture when you do this.

make sure you paint it properly, ie sand down, primer, then paint. if you dont do it this way, it will look rubbish.

I'll see about what I can do to provide before and after pics when I start it! One thing I know about is painting prep. I have over 20 years in the painting business not to mention 8 years as a minaiture painter and exp. as a model builder. One question I have is how do I post pictures here? What format?

my only advice would be to mask off or keep paint away from where the motherboard mounts to the case get paint on those and the mobo may not seat properly. simularly with your drive bays where the drives slide in and out you can paint everything else but you of course want things to seat properly when all is said and done to.
