PC Keeps Freezing Randomly Please Help

Hello

I recently upgraded my PC with a new motherboard, processor, ram and hard drive and for some odd reason it keeps freezing on me randomly. No blue screen just a complete lock up and it makes a sort of hiss sound when it happens and all I can do is restart it. I have brought it back to the shop i brought it from and they tested my new parts and they were all working fine. I have tried almost every possible situation and nothings sorting it please help.

Also here is my setup

Motherboard: Gigabyte GA-Z77M-D3H
Processor: Intel Core I5 Ivybridge
RAM: Corsair Vengence 2x 4GB
Graphics card: Nvidia Geforce GTX 460 SE
Power Supply: 650W
Hard Drive: Western Digital Caviar 1TB

Your box freezes probably because the CPU chip, I mean the die inside the package,
reaches the temperature limit programmed in the BIOS. In my case this limit is 75
degrees Cenntigrade. Open your BIOS and look it up.
The limit is obviously reached because not enough heat is conducted away, i. e. the
cooling element and the fan do not make good contact with the package. Open the box
and make sure the contact is good. Please let me know if that helped. Regards!

I suggest you check your Events to see if you can gain any more information on the crash and what might be causing it.

Open the Start Menu, click on All Programs, Accessories, and on Command Prompt.
Enter the following in the command box and press enter:

eventvwr

This will launch the Event Viewer, now click on System in the left pain and look for any yellow or red icons in the right pain.
Copy the contents of the Description box and paste it (them) into a reply to this thread.

Freezes could have been caused by many factors.

Besides the other posters suggestions, I would suggest we check the HDD and DVD ROM data cable as well.
Install the latest mobo chipset driver and must follow by a reboot.

Also try disable ALL startup apps and see if the freeze problem improved.

You can disable start-up programs by using windows MSCONFIG
Use the following links depending on your OS version on how to start and use MSCONFIG:

Vista = http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_vista.html
Windows 7 = http://www.netsquirrel.com/msconfig/msconfig_win7.html

Yes, MSCONFIG is the command to launch the menu for us to select "startup" options, we can then deselect the check marks in front of the start applications.
Reboot may need for the change to take effect.

I would also suggest we try the Last Konwn Good configuration first, if still freeze, try save mode next.
Do not try Save mode before the LKGC option since that will erase the last known good hardware profile.
