Although I heard there were problems with the new Grisoft AVG version 7, I nevertheless upgraded from Grisoft AVG 6. On completion of the install AVG tried to connect to the 'net but a popup appeared saying I had a Dial-up Trojan. I deleted it using the AVG and rebooted. It remained. I repeated this three times with no success. With some anger I uprooted Grisoft and installed Avast!. This detected the same trojan (along with some other malware) but this time moved it to the vault. I rebooted to ensure all was ok. I then noticed I could not access the 'net either to browse, download mail or ftp. It's like I'm working offline. I checked the firewall (Zonealarm), dial-up connections and the browser to see if any settings had changed. I made a new dial-up connection and even re-installed Zonealarm. No luck. Any help would be appreciated.
