Help With Cd Drive/Burner

My Cd drive no longer registers on my computer, when you open my computer, the icon is no longer there. I dont know where else this question should go, but i may need the drivers re-installed but i cant find them anywhere! it says all it need is the basic windows driver crap. please help

You didn't mention your OS....

Try unistalling the CD-Rom from Device Manager then re-install.
See if Windows detects it.

We have an external Cd burner that connects USB and it has the same problem, its not accesible.Also my iPod no longer registers. it wont recognive any drives (other than the hard drive[s]) the floppy still works, and any other devices i connect to the usb ports still work fine.

Try removing your usb stuff from device manager
