Oversized Display

Postby Torquay-Pete » Mon Jun 07, 2004 5:33 am

Hello again
A Freind of mine has been having problems with his PC lateley and I have
managed to sort some of these out (installing ad-aware and removing over 600 dubious entries!!) but he has a problem with everything on his screen is about 5 times normal size!!
We have tried to alter this in the display function , but this will not respond to any attempts to ajust it. (we also found 3 trojans and a worm)
and have Quarantined them with AVG anti-virus.
Any suggestions would be more than welcome.
Thanx Pete

a few questions...

What is the resolution set on?
What exactly is oversized, icons, text or everything?
Under Device Manager,is the video card listed correctly?
Are there any errors next to it in the Device Manager?

you can go to the appearance tab of the display control pannel. Set it to winxp default and see if it makes a difference

In some cases, you can reinstall drivers but i would follow teststrips advise first. If it doesnt help,go to the device manager, expand Display Adaptors and uninstall your video card.Reboot and windows should detect it and reinstall to default settings.

The other place to check is control panel, display, appearance, font-size :)
