Download and install: . Now Run it and post a copy of the Log File here.
(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

wcmdmgrl.exe
Freedom.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.) Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

O16 - DPF: {FF65677A-8977-48CA-916A-DFF81B037DF3} (WMService Class) - http://download.overpro.com/WildApp.cab

Go to Control Panel / Add/Remove Programs and remove the following if they are there:

Wild Tangent
Zero Knowledge
Freedom

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\ilox.dll
C:\Program Files\Zero Knowledge
C:\WINDOWS\frmhdky.dll
C:\WINDOWS\wt

Now, empty your TEMP Folder / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.

First, please post a new Log File to be sure.
Also, look for Casprog. Deal Helper hides behind that name.
It's probably just orphaned in Add/Remove.
Try this:
Back up your Registry first.
Start / Run / Type regedit press "Enter" / Navigate to: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE \ SOFTWARE \ Microsoft \ Windows \ CurrentVersion \ Uninstall
"Right Click" and delete it here.

Ad Remove Pro worked!

Postby Lindalee » Thu Jun 17, 2004 1:13 am

I downloaded the add/remove pro program...and was able to remove it! Thanks Cactus. I hope that was what was making my computer run slow. (I clicked on remove program...and not uninstall...I guess that was right?) I know that now when I go into add/remove programs....I don't see it there. You know, the size of that file was over 2,000 MB. That was pretty large wasn't it? Brad said that perhaps Deal Helper was just orphaned there...what exactly does that mean?

Great news. Your Log File looks good. Glad Cactus had the Link.
Orphaned means the Program is gone but it left itself in the Add/Remove Programs List. (In this case)
To Back-up the registry: Start / Run / Type regedit and click "Ok" / "File" Menu / Export. Pick a Folder where you want to save it.
