protect my registry

Postby meddle-head » Fri Jun 18, 2004 2:08 am

I have been on a continuous war with malware/spyware/adware/junkware. I seem to be succsessful in removing it every time I get infested by using several adware/spyware cleaning apps as well as a startup manager called "code stuff". However, this is starting to get monotonous.
I am now looking for an application that will just give me a warning and seek permission every time the registry gets rewritten. My hope is that I can stop the spyware from installing as spyware that is not running is much easier for me to remove. Does Anyone know an application that will do this for me?

Great.....

If you're comp is on-line alot it's a good idea to run Ad-Aware and SpyBot Search & Destroy every couple days if not daily.
Just to clean unwant spyware...easy and quick.

Also check for updates everytime you run it...that's always a good idea.
We do have a Mod here that keeps everyone informed on updates so check back here frequently as well...

You must also be aware of your surfing habits. Watch what you download.

Spyware and adware is often bundled with software such as Kazaa, Morpheus, Grokster, Imesh, Xolox, Gnutella and a myriad of other programs, and in many cases installed without your knowledge.
Heres a program that detects a multitude of spyware, adware, trojan, keylogger, foistware and trackware components; sources of irritation that antivirus software does not deal with.
