I like to hear other ppls funny stories (i mean things that happened to you, not books and such). ill start it off, and this one is GREAT.

OK, i was working at IWU campus, driving around a cushman 3-wheeler, when i guy waves me over. i figure he want directions somewhere, as this happens alot.

As it turns out, he says hes a trucker, his truck broke down and is holding up traffic a couple of blocks away. he needs to borrow 25$ for some diesel gas, as he forgot his wallet at home. he says he will let me hold onto his truck drivers license and registration until later in the day when he will meet me back at IWU headquarters to ay me not 25 back, but 50. sounds like a GREAT deal right?

wrong. hows he gonna give me his license if he doesnt have a wallet? whats he going to carry the gas in? he had no can. why did he walk all the way down here to get money from me when the gas station a block away from where his truck ran out was sure to offer him a better chance at getting help?

seeing these things (and something else which is the funniest part, coming later) i told him i didnt have any money, but if he checked at headquarters maybe someonecoul help him there (like security maybe?). he says no, never mind, ill just go to the ATM up at bromen hospital (another 3 block walk.) right. and use the ATM card in your wallat which you dont have? and if you have one, why not use the nice ATM at that gas station?

ill tell you why. i looked like an innocent, gullable target for a scam. WRONG. despite all these clues, this is the real kicker:

last summer, as i was riding my bike to work, a few blocks away the EXACT SAME GUY stops me with a story almost identicle. i guess he didnt remember me, but i knew him cause he made me 20 min late for work. i didnt fall for it then, either...duh.

i thought about saying something, but he was bigger than me and i didnt want to start anything, so i just let him go, and told my superiors about the situation. what are the odds of something like this happening? cant be good. but it made my day interesting.
