Max Payne 2: The Fall of Max Payne--GREAT

Postby Daydreamer » Sat Jan 17, 2004 6:38 am

Well, I was a bit skeptical of this game because I thought it would be a piece of crap shoot em up game with no storyline and good graphics.

Bought the game and installed it. AWESOME GAME.

One thing stands out--The graphics are wonderful. With 4x AA 4x AF and Highest Quality settings, and the highest game settings, on my 9600XT I never got below 55 FPS in the game. The graphics are simply AMAZING.

The game itself is awesome. What surprised me was the storyline. It was actually quite deep, and creates a grimy New York murder detective type atmosphere, a grim noir type.

You can choose through a rather large array of guns (how the hell can he hold that many, it looks like he's pulling Uzi's out of his shoulder and Molotov Cocktails out of his ass). These would include Dual 9mm pistolds, Deagles, Shotguns, Uzis, MPs, etc. By using bullet time you can slow down the action and take more time to aim and decide on your actions. The effects are great.

You go around shooting up hordes of mobsters, which is just SO addictive. I was playing this game 'til 4 AM without a care, even though the next day I had mid-term exams.

The game is great. Do me a favor and get it. You won't be disappointed.

My specs--
2.53 GHZ 533 FSB Un overclocked...38c with shitty thermal grease and a monster 7000CU Zalman heatsink.

Abit IS7

Dual Channel 2x 256 DDR400 Corsair XMS

ATI Radeon 9600XT Un overclocked

80 GB HDD

p4

I am planning on overclocking the fsb to near 800 speeds.

I just realized right after I built myu pc that I could have gotten a 2.4c 800mhz for 25 dollars more. Oh well. I also heard that 2.4c's can overclock to 3.2 speeds on STOCK COOLING. That's crazy!

I've never played Max Payne 2 yet, but it has a legitimate nude code, check it out on cheats.ign.com. You didn't hear it from me...
