Unless you are using BackWeb for news content, its recommended that you uninstall it. Go to Add/ Remove Programs to uninstall.
It is often a serious resource hog, in most cases it is also advertising adware, it slows down your Internet connection, unacceptably if you connect by modem, and it has the potential for sending out information from your PC.

Its not in my uninstall thing. i must of removed it with my spy remval thing. is therea link where i can downlaod it then uninstall it? plz help. thanks

if you run hijackthis, and look for a backweb entry, you'll likely be able to get rid of the message without having to install/uninstall.
