Device manger error code 19 for cdrom

Postby Moospell » Fri Jul 02, 2004 7:19 pm

This morning I hooked up a slave drive to my main Hardrive. After i had gotten the files off it that I wanted I shut down the comp and then unhooked the slave drive, then booted back up.Went to install from a cd,but both my burner and my cdrom are not seen.I went into device manager, seen the yellow highlights, and came up with error code 19.
Ran a search for such problems.hit sereveral forums.tried the methods that seem to work for others(unistalling both cdroms, and the secondary ide channels,in safe mode.)but these don't seem to work for me.
Anyone have any other suggestions how I might get winxp pro to see my cdroms again?

Remove the drives from the device manager then shut down.Unplug the drives and boot without them.Shut back down and plug them back in,boot again and see what ya get.
