What's the Make/Model of your Sound Card?
Try updating the drivers for it....

does the system clock also run fast, or is it only the sound card?

Also, are you overclocking your system by raising the FSB? Changing the FSB also affects PCI bus timings on most motherboards, so that may be causing your problem

The clock runs fine, the driver is updated, it seems like the music starts playing quickly after the computer has been switched on for a few hours.
