Some Problems Part 2

Postby PearlJamaholic » Tue Jul 06, 2004 4:18 am

ok ive ran adware and spy bot and i think it fixed most of my problems. but i still have a few. one is a cant get to 192.168.1.1 it gives 401 and another is every so often my router just disconnects and reconnects. i have no idea if these two problems go hand in hand or even if they have anything to do with spyware. another is coolweb seems to always reinstall itself. i hope that the most recent update for adware fixed this but ive had this problem for almost two weeks.

Are you sure that's your Router's IP? Try 192.168.0.1 and 192.168.1.0
Anyhow let's fix this first:

**(Always create a Folder for HiJackThis anywhere but your Temp/Temporary Internet Folders. This is where it will save the backup files needed if there's a problem.)**

Press Ctrl/Alt/Del and "End Task" or "End Process" on each of the following: (They may or may not be there)

dWYpLteao.exe
msuqtz32.exe

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Local Page =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,HomeOldSP = about:blank
R0 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Toolbar,LinksFolderName =
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Connection Wizard,Shellnext = http://www.emachines.com/
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dWYpLteao] C:\documents and settings\emachines\local settings\temp\dWYpLteao.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [AutoLoader30v21WNTdZPL] "C:\WINDOWS\System32\msuqtz32.exe" /PC="AM.WILD" /HideUninstall
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [374k3qQ] msuqtz32.exe
O4 - HKLM\..\Run: [dWYpLteao.exe] C:\documents and settings\emachines\local settings\temp\dWYpLteao.exe

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\msuqtz32.exe

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin" and reboot.
