Postby PearlJamaholic » Sun Jul 11, 2004 7:33 pm

I have no idea what the problem here is but i can not install this update. it doesnt matter if its a automatic update or i get it from the website. at one point it was listed under the add/remove in control panel so i removed it cause it wouldnt install and then tried it again.
any idea why it wont install or how to get it to install?

Can you download it from here...
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/deta ... laylang=en

To start the installation immediately, click Open or Run this program from its current location.
To copy the download to your computer for installation at a later time, click Save or Save this program to disk.

Try installing it both ways.

1 and 3 didnt work and with the 2nd one the second line gave me acces denied. but i did find something. if i open the self-extracting thing from the wutemp folder it tells me that txflog.dll is open or used by another application. so i think thats why i cant install it. but how do i find what programs are using this .dll

Have you ever used this service....
http://www.faxresume.com/

That's what the txflog.dll file belongs to.

Im back! ok this morning i got up and there was a automatic update guess for what. well anyway i just thought some lines were crossed and it didnt already know i had it. well the installation failed so i tried it from the website same thing. now its listed in the add/remove program and under the installation thing on the windows update site. its also listed as sucessful when i got it yesterday. so should i just ignore this update cause its on my computer or could it be that its not? i also noticed that when i tried to install it from the wutemp folder i got the txflog.dll error. so i just deleted it this time but when i restarted it was back. so how i do want to get rid of the txflog.dll for good.
