Real IE problems

Postby cheeseypoofs » Wed Jul 14, 2004 1:05 am

Hi,

I am unable to set my home page in IE and a pop up comes up telling me
I have spyware whenever I lauch it or open a new window. The link it sends me to is:

http://38115.ilxt.info/search.php?pin=1 ... are+remove

Using IE I have been unable to register properly to your site so I have had to download netscape just to write to you guys!

I have run Spybot and Adware and now I have just run HijackThis:
Spybot keeps telling me I have an DSO Exploit????
Any help would really be appreciated as this problem is starting to drive me nuts!
Thanks.

Download
Unzip it to your desktop but don't run it yet.

Turn off System Restore. (Turn it back on after this is repaired and you've rebooted.)
(This would also include the “GoBack” Program if it is installed.)
Close all other open Windows and have HiJackThis Fix:

R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Bar = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html
R1 - HKCU\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Main,Search Page = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html

R0 - HKLM\Software\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Search,SearchAssistant = file://C:\DOCUME~1\Paul\LOCALS~1\Temp\sp.html

O18 - Filter: text/plain - {6B906F39-6DB9-4D2F-B3D1-B0550B4B344A} - C:\WINDOWS\System32\omld.dll

Now delete these Folders or Files that are Highlighted: (You may need enable "Show all Files" and disable "Hide System Files" in Windows Explorer / Tools / Folder Options / View Tab) (You may have to boot to "Safe Mode" in order to delete some Files/Folders)

C:\WINDOWS\System32\omld.dll

Now, empty all your TEMP Folders (WinXp has up to 4 of them) / Temporary Internet Files Folder and then empty your "Recycle Bin".

Do not open internet explorer to come back here until after running this tool.

Double click Aboutbuster.exe, on your Desktop / Click OK / Click Start / Click OK. This will scan your computer for the bad files and delete them.

Once the tool is done scanning, copy the log and paste it into your thread.
with a new Hijack this log.
