CD Disk I/O Error

Postby patkim » Thu Aug 12, 2004 9:56 am

I find that after a few weeks of use, CDs develop some fine scratches on it. Is this normal or I need to check something.
Also few of the CDs I had burnt a few months back have now started giving me Disk I/O error? What does this error indicate and could it be due to such scratches or some other problem. My CD drive is able to read rest of the CDs.
Thanks.

Most likely the little scratches are caused from the CD Rom drive
not coming to a complete stop before the CD is dropped back onto the CD tray.

Did you finalize these CD's?

The Disk I/O errors could be caused by bad/cheep media.
I have found over the years that it is worth the extra money to buy quality CD-R blanks.
