What Type of RAM do I have?

Postby msiler » Fri Aug 13, 2004 3:05 pm

Do I have to open my box to find out what kind of RAM I am using or is there a simpler way of checking this?

Hello msiler Image

Right clicking on My Computer will def tell you how much you have but if your looking to add more ram I'd open it up to make sure you get the correct type that's compatible with your board. You will need it open to add it anyhow

If you kno what your specs are post them and we may be able to tell you what kind you have...........

Thanks GG,
I was pretty sure I was headed into the deep dark box to get the right info...she's tucked away under the desk and under a gazillion wires and peripherals so it's kind of a PIA to do but ya gotta do what ya gotta do.

My father in law built the comp for me but does not remember what he used :)

It just so happens SANDRA is installed on my computer so that told me I had 256 MB od SDRAM.

Bu the brightest idea would have been to go find the manual that came with my computer and READ IT!!!! There was all the info I needed in B&W about what my motherboard would accept and sisoftsandra told me what I had so i was all set.

Thanks for the help guys.
