Problem with compressed file in CD

I posted this earlier but I dfon't see it. Trying again--

Can't open compressed file in WINME
I have COMPAQ PRESARIO--WINME--OE7

When I tried to save 3 JPG files to my CD , the only way I was able to save it was as they told me "COMPRESSED". I agreed.

Now when I try to view the compressed folder which is in my CD, it tells me---

"Please insert the last disk of the multi volume set & click to OK. Don't know what they are asking for. So I try to delete the notice window and I can't. It won't let me continue. My comp freezes up requiring me to reboot. I keep trying and the same thing happens."

My computer works fine except for this problem.

What can the last disk be that they are referring to? Any way to open the compressed file?

I just tried to delete some files from the full CD to create some space but for every file I get---

"Invalid ms-dos function. Can not delete."

I can open the other files, but I can't delete them.

I am supposing you are using a CDRW (not a cdr) and have some sort of program loaded so you can write to the CDRW like a normal hard drive?

There are 2 companies that i know of that make such a program Roxio/adaptec and Nero. I would make sure I had the most current version of the software, and that they are set-up correctly on your pc.

If you are still having problems with the newer version of the software, I'd copy ALL of the files off your cd, and onto your hard drive, Format the CD, and copy the files you want back onto the cd.

Thanks --I copied all the files to my HD. When I opened up the problem file it was EMPTY. The other files opened up OK with JPGs.
