usb2 card reader wont install after PC recovery

Postby efiste2 » Mon Sep 01, 2003 11:14 pm

i have a 6 in one card memory card reader that has no make or model number on it and i have thrown the wrapping away as it worked fine, when i bought it i plugged it in and it installed automatically, But now after having to use the recovery discs to reboot my computer the card reader tries to install itself as i plug it in but all six virtual hard drives come up with a problem saying that there is a driver error, im assuming that XP already has the drivers preinstalled, and the disc that came with the reader only has 98/200/ME drivers on it, anyone any ideas!!!!

it was a driver fault..........i rang my retailer helpline and they found it to be a problem with reinstalling XP ...............so he talked me through the fix, this involved using regedit and removing somthing called upper and lower drivers at a certain location.............and all is well!!!!
