Maybe I'm just stupid blind but - Sound it's not working

Postby Jessi » Mon Aug 30, 2004 4:47 am

Okay so i left my computer for two days and the sound was working JUST FINE when i left. My computer is completely password protected, so there is no chance someone could have gotten into my computer. I come back and now the sound isn't working at all. But everything is plugged in. Help me! Why won't it work. And the volume on the computer is turned up and everything is like on.. Any ideas anyone please?? :)

Hello Jesse!!

Right click on MyComputer, choose properties, hardware, device manager, are there any Yellow Exclamation marks?

If the Sound Card has any, remove the soundcard from there and reboot, Windows will automatically detect it and install the correct drivers.

Let us know...

I had a problem like this once, where I would have volumes turned up in winamp or windows media player, but no sound came out. My solution was to double click the speaker icon on the taskbar and turn up the volumes there. For some reason the volume control in the other programs wasn't updating the actual windows volume controls. Hopefully yours will be as simple as mine was
